## Summary

Full-stack and AI systems engineer with **5+ years** building production software for
African fintech, civic-tech, and SaaS — most of it as the person owning technical
direction at early-stage companies, and is co-founder and CTO of MySapienta. Architected and built a **15-service event-driven
platform in Python/FastAPI as sole engineer**, and engineers NestJS and gRPC
microservices on a multi-tenant platform serving nine products. Ships **LLM systems in
production**: a GPT-4o agent extracting structured investment records from live email,
three complementary retrieval systems (Pinecone semantic search, LlamaIndex RAG with
citations, Gemini File Search), and real-time speech pipelines. Equally at home in
TypeScript and Python, from schema and infrastructure through to the React/Next.js
interface that consumes it — including the observability, migrations, and production
incidents nobody volunteers for.

## Professional Experience

> One full-time role, a company I co-founded, and contract engagements that ran in
> parallel — all of it with the clients' knowledge.

### Digiits Agency — Software Engineer
**March 2026 – Present · Full-time · Accra, Ghana**

Engineer on a multi-tenant platform powering nine products, plus dedicated product
teams for fintech and events clients.

- Work across **Polaris**, a multi-tenant platform serving **9 products from 33 shared
domain modules** — NestJS + gRPC microservices, Apache Kafka event bus, PostgreSQL
with schema-per-service isolation, SpiceDB relationship-based access control, and
React micro-frontends composed via Module Federation.
- Built the **G-Money financial services admin console** end-to-end — now the
operational tool for **8,200+ mobile money customers** (98.5% active, ~774 new per
month) — covering customer management, transaction monitoring, RBAC, audit logging,
feature flags, maintenance mode, and CSV/PDF export.
- Instrumented **OpenTelemetry distributed tracing across 15+ microservices** and built
a transaction-error indexing pipeline into OpenSearch with Grafana dashboards, plus
Winston-to-Loki structured logging with sensitive-data masking on financial paths.
- Migrated the audit-log subsystem from PostgreSQL to OpenSearch, and added admin
  session management with suspicious-activity detection.
- Shipped **two complete frontends for Xplora in under four weeks** — an
admin/organiser dashboard and an 18-phase consumer app spanning feed, stories,
ticket purchase, live voting, and social matching — alongside backend work on
promotions, QR-based door check-in, and Paystack payments.
- Delivered **7 modules of a supermarket POS/PWA** (inventory, CRM, procurement,
reports, audit, users, admin), documented 30+ platform defects with reproductions,
then fixed them myself in the shared platform the following cycle.
- Built **GitHub App integration v2** for the Opero product — connect wizard, webhook
validation, and PR-to-task linking with webhook-driven status transitions.

### Jampolls (formerly Votitude) — Lead Frontend Engineer
**August 2021 – October 2024 · Contract**

Lead engineer on the client application across two products over three years, authoring
**1,165 of 1,461 commits** on the main repository. Platform carries **5,647 responses
across 678 interactive sessions**.

- Built **five product surfaces end-to-end** — Quick Polls, Anonymous Q&A, Surveys,
Quizzes, and real-time multiplayer Trivia — each from empty state to production.
- Engineered **real-time multiplayer Trivia over WebSockets**: room join and reconnect,
countdown timers that stay synchronised across page refresh, mid-game join with full
state resync, session-token rotation on rejoin, and automatic recovery that removed
  the manual retry path entirely.
- Designed and shipped **Jam Sessions**, a live presenter mode enforcing a
single-running-tool invariant, with QR join overlays, host-to-presentation-tab
mirroring via BroadcastChannel, and resilient reconnection with state recovery.
- Built a **survey engine supporting 8+ question types** with conditional branching,
IndexedDB draft persistence, a three-tier authentication fallback chain (invitation
code → anonymous → access token), and CSV/ZIP export.
- Implemented **subscription gating across every creation and submission flow** —
duration caps, response limits, live-participant limits, and Pro-tier export gating.
- Established the **Playwright E2E suite and CI pipeline**, personally authoring the
polls, survey (15 tests), quiz (17 tests), and Q&A suites within a 117-test harness.
- Patched **CVE-2025-55182** via a Next.js 14→15 upgrade; added Sentry instrumentation
  and full technical SEO.
- Earlier, as **Votitude**, the company's elections and awards product since merged
into Jampolls: built the frontend from the first commit — Paystack and MTN Mobile Money
payments, CSV/XLSX voter-roll upload with duplicate detection, live WebSocket vote
tallies with animated counters, and the full v2 UI/UX rebuild.

### MySapienta — CTO & Co-Founder
**October 2025 – Present · Self-employed**

Co-founded MySapienta and own its technical direction as CTO. A 7-application school
management platform; **~89,700 lines contributed to the backend API** plus two
frontends owned end-to-end.
Express + Drizzle ORM + PostgreSQL + Redis + BullMQ, Turborepo monorepo.

- Rewrote the **timetable generation engine as a bounded backtracking constraint
  solver** — a 1.5-second wall-clock deadline and placement-attempt budget checked on a
bitmask interval, a viability pre-check that skips full search when it cannot succeed,
per-class double-block budgeting, and graceful degradation to best-effort greedy
placement. Shipped with a dedicated stress-test harness and scenario/edge suites.
- Built **WhatsApp notification infrastructure** from scratch — provider layer, template
management, per-recipient WhatsApp-first routing, and silent automatic fallback to SMS
when WhatsApp credits are exhausted, so delivery never fails visibly to a school.
- Built the **student portal end-to-end** across three phases: classes, grades with
continuous assessment, attendance heatmaps, schedule, academic calendar,
announcements, library, achievements, and a fee-payment flow backed by a payer
abstraction allowing students to settle their own invoices.
- Built the **guardian parent portal end-to-end**: multi-ward switching, attendance with
absence justification, fees and receipts, PDF term reports, timetables, and 2FA OTP
  sign-in.
- Currently shipping **student check-in/check-out** — backend, attendance sync, guardian
notifications, and a verified-collector checkout flow ensuring a child is released
  only to an authorised adult.
- Made the applications installable: service worker with background auto-update and a
  school-branded post-login PWA install prompt.

### My Creativity Box — Full-Stack Engineer
**November 2024 – January 2026 · Contract · New Zealand (remote)**

Engineer across three products for a New Zealand-based studio. Principally **Spok**, a venture capital fund management
platform where I was top contributor on both repositories (458/714 backend commits,
252/769 frontend) — NestJS + Nx, PostgreSQL/Prisma, React + Vite.

- Built an **AI email agent** ingesting investment email over a persistent,
health-monitored IMAP connection, using **GPT-4o to extract** companies, founders,
valuations, and round terms into structured records with confidence scoring, semantic
  company matching, and duplicate prevention.
- Implemented **three complementary retrieval systems**: Pinecone semantic search with
live index synchronisation on every write, **LlamaIndex company-scoped RAG returning
document and section citations**, and Gemini File Search with rate limiting and
  migration tracking.
- Built a **mark-to-market valuation engine** with multi-currency conversion driven by a
  scheduled Wise exchange-rate job.
- Shipped an **AI reporting suite across four phases** — filtered configuration,
generation history, Excel and landscape-PDF export, and conversational regeneration
  with inline editing.
- Executed a **full Firebase-to-PostgreSQL migration**, including file relocation to
object storage and cross-system relation remapping.
- Resolved recurring production deployment failures by making the entire Prisma
migration chain idempotent, and hardened document processing with size, page-count,
and media-type guards after container crashes.
- Contributed to **Pactify.ai** ([pactifyai.com](https://www.pactifyai.com/)), an
AI-assisted IP licensing platform — agreement drafting, recurring-event scheduling,
and real-time calendar sync with external providers. React, TypeScript, Firebase,
Stripe, and a Python service layer.
- Contributed to **Purposely.ai** ([purposely.ai](https://www.purposely.ai/)), an AI
ad-generation platform for marketers — a GraphQL monorepo with Relay and Prisma on
AWS, where keeping schema in sync between backend and frontend was the central
  engineering problem.
